What is Restorative Hair Tonic?
Restorative Hair Tonic is a collagen rich in-salon conditioning treatment. It repairs and reinvigorates the vitality of the hair and returns hair to it’s youthful appearance.
How long does it take to apply Restorative Hair Tonic?
Generally it takes no more than 10-15 minutes to walk through the step-by-step instructions. You can then send the client home with instructions to wash the Tonic out in between 30 minutes and 24 hours.
How does Restorative Hair Tonic work with color services?
The collagen in Restorative Hair Tonic naturally makes the hair much stronger. This is because the long chain proteins of the hair are repaired and unbroken. This in turn allows the hair to respond to color treatments without the hair breaking. The hair takes color better even if it’s been bleached or lifted. Hair that had been empty will now be full and dense and hold color better.
How long does Restorative Hair Tonic stay in the hair?
Our experience is that on average, a client will report being able to “feel” the Tonic in their hair from between 4-8 weeks.
On which clients is Restorative Hair Tonic effective?
We have found that Restorative Hair Tonic produces amazing effects for any type of hair that has been damaged by the environment. It also produces beautiful natural curly hair, protects the hair from chemical treatments like color and perms, and produces thick, shiny hair while eliminating frizz.
Can Restorative Hair Tonic be used over Brazilian Blowout or Keratin treatments?
Yes. Restorative Hair Tonic works very well on straightened hair. Just schedule your Tonic treatment for between 1-2 weeks before your straightener and you will see great improvement to the quality of your hair.
How long should the client leave the Tonic in?
30 minutes is the minimum before washing the Tonic out of the hair. If you are not styling the hair and blowing it dry, you can send the client home with the Tonic in the hair and instructions to wash it out within 24 hours.
How often should my client get a Tonic treatment?
Most clients get a Tonic treatment every 2-8 weeks. As you become accustomed to working with Restorative Hair Tonic and begin to observe the results for the hair, you will be able to advise clients if they need a Tonic treatment or not.
Does Restorative Hair Tonic weigh down the hair?
No. Restorative Hair Tonic penetrates the hair shaft not just coat the strands. By integrating into the hair, Restorative Hair Tonic actually causes the hair to demonstrate renewed life and body.
Can Restorative Hair Tonic be used with bold, bright colors?
Yes. Again, Restorative Hair Tonic repairs the hair in such a way that you will experience less hair breakage when working with bleach and other chemicals.
Does Restorative Hair Tonic work with a Perm?
Yes. Apply the Tonic after the Perm and send them home with instructions to wash their hair in the morning. This will help bond the hair and strengthen it while the perm is setting.
Can I do a haircut with the Tonic on?
Yes. We encourage stylists to apply the Tonic before you begin cutting.
